RE:- SEED INDUSTRY AND THE 21 DAY LOCKDOWN

The South African Seed industry as represented by SANSOR is in full support of the measures put in place by President Ramaphosa on 23 March 2020. We are fully committed to the health and safety of all South Africans including food security.

The Seed Industry is critical to food security and as such falls within the ” CRITICAL BUSINESS CONTINUITY SERVICES TO SUPPORT THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF SOUTH AFRICANS”

Seed companies will be allowed to carry out all essential services such as seed production, cleaning, packing and distribution of seed including lab services. Please see attached document.

All services provided from SANSOR will continue remotely including phytosanitary support and seed certification.
